EZORINE’S TESTIMONY
In her own words.
Hello, my name is Ezorine Brandon Jones. I come from a family of six siblings, being the youngest girl. At the age of 45, a vision was placed in my head while taking a shower that I had a lump in my right breast. It felt as though the lump was so large that it was protruding. Once I got out of the shower, I looked in the mirror and didn’t see anything protruding.
Then I was led to put two fingers together and deeply press on the right side of my right breast, and went directly to the lump. The lump felt like a soft, small piece of fat about the size of a pea.
I immediately called my doctor the next day to request a diagnostic mammogram. A normal mammogram screening and diagnostic screening were performed on September 1, 2009, along with a breast biopsy. After receiving the pathology results of invasive ductal carcinoma on September 4, my journey with breast cancer began.
Finding strength through treatment
The treatment plan consisted of lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation. Needless to say, I was devastated after the call. I followed up with a general surgeon for a lumpectomy. After surgery, aggressive chemotherapy and radiation were recommended. I had four treatments of chemo over several months and six and a half weeks of radiation.
My treatments ended on March 2, 2010. I was looking forward to getting back to work and in the swing of things. Unfortunately, the aggressive chemo affected my memory permanently and changed my life completely, but thank God I am cancer free!
“My good days outweigh my bad days, so I say thank you Lord, I won’t complain!”
